Andre Segar

Originally from Orlando Florida, Andre Segar is a world traveling Black American Lighting Designer and graduate of Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama Class of 2021 with a BFA in Scenic and Lighting Design. As well as a graduate of New York University Tisch School of Arts, with a MFA in Lighting Design.
 

He has also designed for  reputable summer stocks like Williamstown Theatre Festival where he designed Tell Sad Stories of the Death of Queens. Chautauqua Theatre where he designed Chaisa Hutchinson’s The Bleeding class. And at Glimmerglass Opera Summer Festival, where he will have assisted lighting designed 4 operas.

Before returning to school to better his education he had designed for  numerous Orlando productions such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch, staring Ginger-Minij; Spring Awakening the Musical; and By By Birdie. He has traveled the world with touring companies such as Royal Caribbean  Cruise Line International; Feld Entertainment; and NetWorks Entertainment where he worked on shows such as Disney on Ice; Marvel Universe Live; and Dirty Dancing the Musical, respectively. 

 

Andre is in pursuits of becoming a recognizable name in Theatre, Music and Opera design, both nationally and abroad. In his spare time Andre would normally be traveling  and exploring new countries and cultures. Possibly a French speaking country as he has studied the French language. He enjoys reading and watching space science fictions genres, and having good food, drinks and conversation with colleagues and friends.
